Bread and Wine, Flesh and Blood

I'm trying something new. Here is a video of the last sermon I preached at my internship site, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oakland, California on August 26, 2012. The Gospel lesson for the day was John 6:56-69.

I was learning to say goodbye on a multitude of different levels. I was learning to say goodbye to a congregation that I came to love. I was also learning how to say goodbye to my friend and mentor, Marcus Hess. I learned my last week of internship that Marcus was diagnosed with cancer. Marcus passed away on September 13. I got to tell Marcus about the last sermon I preached, and I now share that sermon with you.
